We have a dozen cute and gregarious Nigerian Dwarf goats on the Flip Flop Farm. They bring smiles to our faces everyday!
Meet Our Goats
Daisy
Born May 11, 2014, Daisy is the OG (Original Goat!) of the Flip Flop Farm. She, along with her sister who has since passed, are the goats that started it all. We all fell in love with the cute and gregarious animals. And for Chris, a seed was also planted. Maybe someday these goats, and this beautiful farm, could bring smiles to the faces of people with disabilities?
Wesley
Born January 22, 2015, Wesley was the next goat to join life on the farm. Wesley came to us as a bottle baby. We loved feeding him and taking care of him when he was little! Being a bottle baby made Wesley particularly sweet and friendly, and he remains so to this day. In his older age, Wesley now suffers from osteoarthrosis and takes medication to help him with the pain. He has a bit of a limp now, which breaks our hearts. But it doesn't stop him from keeping up with the herd!
Fezzik
Coming into this world on March 17, 2015, was Fezzik. Our only other bottle baby, Fezzik is sweet and friendly, quite the lover! He has a very unique, high pitched bleat, which makes his voice easy to pick out of the crowd.
Inigo
Born March 6, 2016, Inigo is (well...was) quite the ladies man! He was famous for sneaking out of the boys pen, and his shenanigans led to several births. Also, his wild ways directly led to all of the boys having to take a trip to OSU to get "the procedure" done. It was not Inigo's favorite day. But something good came out of it, because now the boys and the girls are able to mingle and spend their days wandering around the entire property "mowing" for us!
Sweet Pea
Born on March 28, 2016, Sweet Pea was another wonderful addition to our farm. Sweet Pea came to us from a farm up in Washington, and we were so excited to get her. Just as you might expect from her name, Sweet Pea is really quite sweet. She has one funky horn, called a scur, that has grown in a circle on top of her head. It was caused by a disbudding job that went poorly before she came to our farm. Thankfully, it hasn't caused her any trouble.
Humperdinck
On April 11, 2016, the Flip Flop Farm celebrated its first goat birth on the farm, when we welcomed Humperdinck into our herd. The son of Daisy and Wesley, Humperdinck is the biggest goat on the farm, weighing in at 118 pounds. He may be large, but he is also very sweet and gentle. We are very happy that he gets to spend his whole life with us!
Lily
April 19, 2016, our second litter of goats were born. Daughter of Buttercup (since passed) and Wesley, Lily has been a wonderful addition to the farm. Like many of our other goats, she is polled, which means that she is naturally hornless. She was part of a litter of three, two of which stayed on the farm to permanently join the herd. We think she looks an awful lot like her daddy!
Rue
Also born on April 19, 2016, sister to Lily, Rue has the most adorable color pattern and beautiful blue eyes. She has a sweet and calm disposition, and is also polled, like her sister.
Stargazer
Stargazer was born January 10, 2017. She was not born on our farm, but was a direct descendent of one of our goats. Her mother was one of the triplets, sister to Lily and Rue. The farm that Stargazer was born on was looking to sell off their Nigerian Dwarf goats in favor of a larger breed, and we just knew she needed to come home. She is one of our most shy goats, so if you come to the farm someday for a visit, she will likely keep her distance.
Dread Pirate
The Dread Pirate Roberts, or Dread Pirate, for short, was born off the farm to Stargazer on March 4, 2018. He came "home" as a baby, still being cared for by his mama. Having grown up here, he is more friendly than his mama, and will gladly take food or pets from you! Don't let his horns scare you, he is quite sweet and gentle to people.
By now you may have noticed something about our boys...they all have names from the iconic movie, the Princess Bride. One of our favorite movies of all times!
Vizzini
In January, 2018, Inigo was feeling quite clever and perhaps a bit sneaky. He was spotted from the kitchen window, frolicking and having a grand ole time...out of the boys pen and in with the girls. On June 12, 2018, Rue miraculously gave birth to Vizzini and his sister! We aren't sorry, though. The twins, as we affectionately refer to them, are absolutely precious!
Zinnia
Zinnia, the other "half" of the twins born that day, is the smallest goat on our farm. She is little and cute, and a bit more shy than the others, and will likely not approach for pets. Even as an adult, she is still quite bonded to her brother and mother, and can frequently be spotted snuggling and nuzzling them.
